Rushing Seasons.

As I sit in silence with my coffee and my bible, my thoughts come to the surface. I feel a weight on my heart, and I hear..

“Honor the space between no longer and not yet.”

I think a lot of us struggle with this, with being in the present and being actually focused on this season. I am sure we all can say that being in the “in between” is not our favorite place. Personally I would prefer one over the other, but that is of course until I am there and then I want the opposite. Given, we are never satisfied.

There is either the pains of thinking you are still not out of your last or current season , or not yet where you want to be, but it is always going to be like that.

We are either looking back or looking too far forward, and it takes effort to change that.

We as individuals do not function in a way that is completely happy with what we have and where we are in life. Now, it is important that we are aiming for success and thinking of our future as we push forward, but it is important to be fully in the present in order to do so.

There is this thing, it is called the human nature, which is quite sinful. Wouldn’t you agree?

Always comparing. Comparing our lives with almost everything around us, from cars to hair styles, from body sizes to education, and from job status to life stages. When are we going to learn to be completely in the here and now?

We all do it.

How do you know someone in the here and now doesn’t need you, but you’re just not seeing it because your eyes and thought’s are elsewhere. How do you know that God doesn’t have a task for you in the here and now, but you’re too busy rushing into your next season?

When we are in the “present”, we give opportunity to intentional relationships. Suddenly we focus and see thing’s that maybe could help us in that “next season”.

My hope is that we can slow down, focus on our relationships, focus on our today, so that we can exceed expectations in our tomorrow.
